If you have pain across the...Chiming in again here. If you have pain across the front of the knee only, it may very well be not a problem with the knee joint, but a problem with your hips. Often if the Glute Medias is strained, it will cause pain across the knee. Foam rolling, going to a competent, deep massage therapist (not the storefront types) and building hip strength will resolve this problem quickly. <br />And whether or not the problem is the joint or muscular, if it has not been caused by catastrophic impact - sports related, accidents - it is likely from poor ankle strength and mobility and/or poor hip strength and mobility.
